Tweeters,
Jack Stephens, Jane Lester, Nina Lester and I birded west of Burlington
to the Rockport area along Highway 20 today. Many highlights, including
a Western Scrub Jay seen while driving along hwy 20 in Burlington. The
bird was seen on a wire on the north side of the road after you make the
90 degree right turn to head out of town. A Least Flycatcher was seen at
the Corkindale site on the trail that goes back to the large copse of
mostly Big-Leaf Maples on the east side of the creek. Also in that same
area was a family of at least 6 Ruffed Grouse. Nearby 6 warbler species,
5 flycatcher species and both swift species and all the expected
swallows including Bank were also seen.
All the best
