I spend a lot of time all summer long up on Blue Mountain. American Pipits
breed up there and the mystery bird you probably saw was the alpine race of
Horned Lark with its white throat. That area is fantastic for alpine
wildflowers, butterflies and diurnal moths and tons of other insects as
well as birds. I love it.
