The Northern Mockingbird was singing almost constantly while we (I and Matt
Yawney) were there at 12:30 pm. It was perched in the dead poplar tree in
the yard of the house at the bottom of the hill. If you chase this bird
please respect private property. A scope would be helpful to get very good
looks. The directions are as follows: Turn west off of Stratford Road north
of Moses Lake on Road 16 NE. Follow Road 16 NE until it drops over the hill
and makes a sharp left. The road is gravel but is a good road passable by
any vehicle. There is a house there with one living poplar, one dead poplar,
and a large pine of some kind on the left. Three roads come together right
at the house. Park off the road and listen. You should hear the mockingbird
singing.
Cheers
