Just got back from an amazing long weekend at Orcas Island! The birds were out in full force, and much of the birding I did was effortless-- as in sitting in my campsite at Moran State Park and watching the birds flit by! ?Saw a total of 37 species.

The birding highlight of the trip were the Townsend's warblers-- they were *everywhere*. ?You couldn't step out of the tent or walk down the trail without seeing an adult being harassed by its flock of fledglings.

Birds identified were:

Yellow warbler
Wilson's warbler (numerous)
Townsend's warbler (with fledglings)
Orange-crowned warbler (with fledglings)?
Golden-crowned kinglet
Warbling vireo
Varied thrush
Swainson's thrush
American robin (with fledglings)
Dark-eyed junco (with fledglings)
Song sparrow
White-crowned sparrow (numerous)
Red-winged blackbird
Brown-headed cowbird (including fledgling being fed by a Townsend's warbler)
Brown creeper (with fledglings)
Chestnut-backed chickadee (with fledglings)
Black-capped chickadee
Red-breasted nuthatch
Pacific-slope flycatcher (numerous)
Olive-sided flycatcher ?(several heard)

Northern flicker
Pileated woodpecker
Steller's jay
American crow
Common raven
