Thank you to the gentlemen who responded. Certainly in the Western Washington lowlands there are lots of flowering materials to sustain birds from Fall thru Spring as well as the feeders. As a long time student of feeder behavior, one notices that they use feeders little in the months of Feb., March, April,May, as females have nests and males are defending territories. Does anyone know how much Anna's breeds in backyards, as they do in California? If there were enough native and planted blooms for them, then they very well may make a go of it in Kittitas, Yakima and other eastern counties. I guess it depends on the success and growth of suburban life there. Thanks a lot.
