Hi All,

I did a quick check of the two major lakes in the southern part of
Kitsap County this afternoon - Long Lake and Kitsap Lake. The male
REDHEAD still lingers at the north end of Long Lake as viewed from the
park on that end. Kitsap Lake, as the rains returned, had numerous Tree
and Violet-green Swallows over it. The highlight bird on the lake was a
male TUFTED DUCK that spent much of its time on the east end of the lake
as viewed from the park on the south end of the lake. Long tuft was
visible a few times as it moved its head around in the downpour. But,
the immaculate white sides and black back and round black head allowed
me to pick it out at some distance, and pretty much sealed that it
wasn't of mixed scaup parentage.

Cheers and good birding,
