We had our first Rufous Hummingbird, a male, of the season arrive today. He
arrived at 12:25 PM and promptly parked on a feeder and fed for 4 minutes (I
clocked him). This (Friday 03-07-14) is the earliest observed arrival in
the 12 years we have lived here, the earlier record being March 10 in 2008
and 2013.
