Tweets ? I ran down for a quick swing through Marymoor this morning. The weather was pretty nice, which was a lot of the reason I went down. Pretty birdy, even though I was mostly walking fast. There?s quite a bit of flooding (worst of the year), with 8? of water over parts of the trail, and much of the boardwalk submerged.

Highlights:

Cackling Goose One on grass soccer fields
Great Blue Heron Counted 35+ at the heronry. Nest building
Cooper?s Hawk One crossed the slough
Red-tailed Hawk On the nest east of model airplane field
Virginia Rail Song heard south of model airplane field
Herring Gull Still one with the gull flock
Rufous Hummingbird At least 3, males displaying
Northern Shrike Adult, East Meadow
VIOLET-GR. SWALLOW They?re back ? at least 50
Pacific Wren Chorus of 3 singing, E. end of boardwalk
Lincoln?s Sparrow 1 at Compost Piles; scarce this winter
White-crowned Sparrow 1 near weir with GCSP; scarce this winter

In 2.5 hours, and without a swing through the mansion area, I managed 48 species. Violet-green Swallow was new for the year.
