I have been trying for several years to get a decent photograph of a hummingbird in full flight. As you might expect, it has been difficult. Recently, I pulled off my best effort to date of a male Anna's diving from a bush to a feeder on my deck. It was published in the Seattle Times last Sunday but I admit to being disappointed in the way it came out in the newspaper. The first shot is of a male Belted Kingfisher at the Shilshole Marina yesterday evening. It is the closest a Kingfisher has ever allowed me to get.
