Hey Tweets!

I left Renton a little after noon and have had a nice half-day birding Kittitas county. I'll be out again tomorrow, so there's more to come, but there have been some good reports from kittitas already in the last day or so, so I thought I'd add!

The first kittitas county rest stop (cabin creek?) had a few Gray Jays, Steller's Jays and an American Crow. I of course added Black-billed Magpie and Common Raven later in the day, but the big surprise (for me.. Maybe it's not a surprising sighting) was a Clark's Nutcracker as I was leaving Roslyn to head towards Cle Elum. The house just past the traffic circle was where I found it, staying up in the treetops while finches visited the feeders.

I visited Teanaway for the first time and finally got a dozen Wild Turkeys on the main road. There was also a Rough-legged Hawk on a pole at Swauk Prairie. From there, I hit Hungry Junction Road, where I had a Greater White-fronted Goose fly over with two Canada's, and a few Wilson's Snipe.

At dusk Northeast of Ellensburg, I was able to find a Great Horned Owl and a Short-Eared Owl.... And... I'm likely to throw away some sleep tonight looking for owls in the liberty area!

FOY Tree and Violet green Swallows, Western Blurbirds and Say's Phoebes. Spring is here!
