Tweets, At least one first-cycle GLAUCOUS GULL continued Monday and Tuesday
as previously reported by Bill Tweit and Stefan Schlick from the end of
Goodrich Rd between Grand Mound and Centralia. I may have seen a THAYER'S
(great distance) but no BONAPARTE'S. Most gulls were congregating at a pool
(probably in Thurston Co) visible only from the north: W on Prather Rd, bear
south via 209th and a farm road across a bridge. Goodrich and Prather each
intersect with Old Hwy 99 which runs N-S in front of Great Wolf Lodge just
south of the I-5 exit 88 interchange. Monday there were 7 TRUMPETER SWANS in
the farm fields. Tuesday the Horned Grebe continued in the pond at Goodrich.
The BLACK PHOEBE is still actively foraging and calling just south of bridge
on Goodrich. Monday a bunch of Audubon's and Myrtle Warblers were giving it
plenty of competition. Good birding!
