Much appreciation goes to the following Tweets who sent a lot of different responses to my eBird and Snohomish Gyrfalcon Questions and comments - from them I have grown in my appreciation of both the Tweeterage and eBird and have selected the following links to use for easy access to, not only the eBird Birder's Dashboard, but to several other Washington birder info sites. The link (2 versions, depending on whether or not one solely wants a current Washington eBird sightings list, or other site info as well): http://www.birdingwashington.info/ & http://birdingwashington.info/dashboard/ And I remain amazed at and appreciative of the disparate types that abound amongst the general category, "birders" and of how generous many are to share details of sightings and experiences. Generally a thoughtful, friendly, patient, knowledgeable and humor-endowed group. The specific Tweets who deserve a genuine thanks for help with my, and others', attempts to lurk on eBird, include Barry B, Diane Y-Q, Chris W, Joel H, Teresa M, Michael F, Rick T, Hank H. Perhaps I will find that, down the road I will have reason to add an entry or 2 to eBird.

Thanks also, to Bob S for encouraging me to use eBird and for sharing his enthusiasm and sighting assistance, along with Vincent L, both of whom were, as was I, hoping to see the Gyrfalcon late yesterday (Friday 3/21) afternoon. We came up with a N. Harrier, a Red-tailed Hawk, a Bald Eagle, some ducks, mostly Mallards snoozing in the grasses on the banks of the French Creek wetlands and the songs of Red-winged Blackbirds and Robins. Vince & Bob said they'd seen thousands of Snow Geese over near Marsh Rd. and the local airport. No swans or falcons spotted from either of the 2 primary Gyr viewpoints (Old Snoho/Monroe Rd. near 127th SE and 103rd SE south of the wrecking yard).

Good luck in spotting that Gyr again, especially Chris & Co. who are hoping that tomorrow will be their lucky day ! Could be that that Gyrfalcon, like many of the other birds in the area, has felt the pull to begin the breeding season and has taken leave of its wintering grounds...

So, any of you see that new movie: "A Birder's Guide to Almost Everything" ? Any reviews?
