I was introducing a newer friend to some Edmonds birding spots this morning. We found the Willow Creek Hatchery and Yost Park to be quite birdy. The hatchery had a Pileated, two displaying Downy Woodpeckers, and a Northern Flicker. The park had a couple of Hairy Woodpeckers, a Pileated and two courting Red-breasted Sapsuckers. The park offered good views of Brown Creeper, both Chickadees, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and Hutton's Vireo. There were several male Anna's doing amazingly high and beautiful dives. Golden-crowned Kinglets were at the hatchery.
