Subject: [Tweeters] Interesting gull on Columbia near Vantage

Tweeters, this last weekend, Saturday afternoon, I observed a gull standing
near a large exposed sand bar in the Columbia in Vantage that gave me
trouble. It had a bright yellow bill, yellow legs, and a rather dark mantle
in comparison to nearby gulls. My initial thought was Lesser Black-backed
Gull, but being unfamiliar with that species I first wanted to entertain
more common gulls. It was very distant, so a good image was impossible. I
did get this image however which represents the mantle color well:

The bird was on a sand bar here: 46.946174, -119.980841

I hope somebody in the area can check the gulls to see if they can relocate
this one. Comments on the fuzzy bird in the photo would be welcome. What
else could it be other than Lesser Black-Backed?

Thanks,
