Subject: [Tweeters] Green Heron at Montlake Fill

Hi Tweeters,

Connie Sidles' report from Tuesday spurred Bill and I to
visit the Union Bay Natural Area (Montlake Fill) and environs. Although I
don't think we saw any of the birds Connie mentioned, there was plenty for
us to sort out. The best bird of the day for us was a Green Heron that flew
over our heads while we were standing near the Southwest Pond looking at
Cinnamon Teal. It flew south and landed on Canoe Island. We could see the
mahogany chest well when it spread its wings to land.

We did see one Blue-winged Teal, which apparently has been
around the area for a while.
