Two of us saw the avocet for less than 10 minutes. The last couple were
with a Bald Eagle pursuing it in the air. A strange mismatch of size.
Knowing avocets in nest situations I would have expected it to be chasing
the eagle! Four Red-necked Phalaropes were beyond stop 12 on Rest Lake,
still there from yesterday.

Randy Hill just phoned and said on South Big, River S Unit near the middle
on tour rt but closer to post 11 there is a single Am Avocet.
