Tweeters,

I finally left my yard and birded for a few hours on Larch Mountain in
northeastern Clark County. I was struck by the very low number of birds in
the area compared to previous years. A few highlights:

1.) quite a few Hermit Warblers on territory
2.) 2 "booming" Sooty Grouse

A few lowlights:

1.) only two Western Wood Pewees
2.) ZERO Olive-sided Flycatchers

I certainly hope that more breeding birds are on their way to bring numbers
back to average.

Keep your eyes and ears skyward.

Jim
