Subject: [Tweeters] HARRIS'S SPARROW at Neah Bay, November 2

Tweeters,

So you thought the incredible list of rarities at Neah Bay had peaked? Maybe
not. Yesterday afternoon, I ran into my friends Mike and Sharon Toochin, who
had just seen a HARRIS'S SPARROW (presumably an immature). They said it was
with a flock of about 5 GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS almost directly across the
street from the Neah Bay Mini Mart. I looked for the bird a short time
later, but with no luck; the rain, formerly intermittent, had become steady,
and my attempt to find the sparrow did not succeed.

Vince Lucas and others have made reference to the well-known Patagonia
Picnic Table Effect operating in Neah Bay. My position on this? Nope. This
is the Patagonia Picnic Table Effect SQUARED!

Good luck and good birding,
