This may be old news to many of you,but the road out to the North Jetty
from Cape Disappointment State Park is closed while the Corps of
Engineers works on jetty repairs. Work on culvert replacement and
the filling of the lagoon that runs parallel to the North Jetty road
has already begun and will continue until the spring. Actual jetty
repairs will start in June and be ongoing until October 2016. Then
they'll work on jetty A for awhile then go back and work on the
North Jetty doing what they're describing as rehabilitation which
will take another 3 years.

A 4-year rehabilitation project at the South Jetty is scheduled to
begin in 2017.

Expect lots of access difficulties for the rest of the decade...

Here's the schedule:

Meanwhile, the North Head Lighthouse is closed for road and trail
maintenance until spring and restoration work on the actual lighthouse
will be going on for the next year or so...
