Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 6. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

Two BROWN BOOBIES are now being see at Yaquina Bay. On October 30 a NORTHERN
WATERTHRUSH was at The Dalles waterfront Park. BLUE JAYS were reported
during the week from Albany and Bend.

Heavy CACKLING GOOSE movements were reported October 31 and November 1
through western Oregon with many ALEUTIAN GEESE reported along the coast.

On November 1 a LARK SPARROW was at Cape Blanco. Two late ELEGANT TERNS were
at Coos Bay November 1. The seasons first ROCK SANDPIPER and TUNDRA SWANS
were at Yaquina Bay October 29.

On November 2, 18 INE GROSBEAKS and 20 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES were on the
summit of Wind Mountain on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge.
Recently on the Columbia River off Hayden Island in North Portland were a
BLACK SCOTER, 14 SURF SCOTERS, two PELAGIC CORMORANTS, a CLARK?S GREBE, a
RED-THROATED and a PACIFIC LOON. On November 3 a RED-THROATED LOON was in
Salem. That day a CLARK?S GREBE and a LONG-TAILED DUCK were on the Philomath
Sewage Ponds.

On November 2 four SURF SCOTERS and a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER were on the
Diamond Lake Sewage Ponds. SURF SCOTERS were reported during the week from
many Jefferson County lakes. On November 2 two PINYON JAYS were photographed
in Ukiah. Two PACIFIC LOONS were in Island City November 4. Three COMMON
LOONS were on the LaGrande Sewage Ponds that day. On November 2 a
BAND-TAILED PIGEON was in Bend.
