On Saturday, Sherry and I finally got a chance to make the 4 1/2 hour drive up to Neah Bay. Unfortunately, we could not make it up last weekend to see the Hobby. When we arrived, Fanter Lane and company had both the ORCHARD and BULLOCKS ORIOLES together. We walked down the street towards the Senior Center and had 2 TROPICAL KINGBIRDS. At the Senior Center, the Brambling was not seen, and it still was not spotted by 2:00pm when we left. In Waatch Valley, we did find the CATTLE EGRET along the dirt road in the fields with horses. This was north of the transfer station. As we were leaving town, we spotted a lady photographing a bird in the trees across from the Coast Guard Station. It was the BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER. Other birds seen in and around Neah Bay were;
Greater White-fronted Goose
Eurasian Wigeon 1
Harlequin Duck - several
White-winged Scoter 2
Long-tailed Duck 1
Red-throated Loon ? lots
Western Grebe ? lots
Black Turnstone 3
Red Phalarope 3
Common Murre 2
Heermann's Gull 1
Mew Gull 2
Western Gull 1
Anna's Hummingbird 1
Red Crossbill

On Sunday, we tried for the Black-headed Gull in South Bend without success. We spent about 3 1/2 hours looking. Here?s a few birds that we did see.
Snow Goose 60 (Caruthers Slough)
Western Grebe 13
Northern Harrier 2
Rough-legged Hawk 1
Dunlin 10
Least Sandpiper 25
Long-billed Dowitcher 15
Bonaparte's Gull 1
Mew Gull
Ring-billed Gull
Western Gull 1
Herring Gull 1
