Hi,
The weather up north has finally driven the waterfowl south. Swans are
arriving nearly everywhere both Trumpeter and Tundra.

Has anyone observed the more than 25 swans that landed at Hick's Lake in
Lacey today? If so, do you know if they are Trump or Tundra? Any other
sightings outside the usual areas are always welcome. We are trying to track
them better to look at what types of habitat they are using on their way
south.

Also, where else are you seeing them both on the east and west sides of the
mountains. We know that there is an increasing number of Trumpeters
migrating through eastern WA, especially through the Okanogan and Methow
areas moving south through Ellensburg and beyond. Let me know what you
find. And as always, keep your scopes ready to read any neck bands you
might observe.

Today, M27 was observed at the Bob Heirman Wildlife Park along with 35 other
Trumpeters-- 17 juveniles and 18 adults. He is now 5 years old and has a
mate with youngsters in tow.
