It was, unfortunately, too windy for the ducks (and too bullet-y) in the Spencer Island area, but we got excellent looks at a Wilson's Snipe that we accidentally flushed onto a boardwalk. A good day for eagles and hawks (Red-tailed and Northern Harriers) too. At the ponds, lots of Northern Shovelers and Ruddy Ducks were riding the waves. A cheery flock of Bonaparte's Gulls bathed and chatted very close to the path. As we approached the onramp to southbound 529 afterward, a pair of Common Ravens landed in a tree by the road and preened their shiny selves.

Those finds and the rare appearance of Northwest Sunshine made it a very good day in spite of the wind.
