Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday November 12. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The two BROWN BOOBIES continue to be seen at Yaquina Bay. Another is now
flying about Haystack Rock at Pacific City. Nearby at the Nestucca Bay NWR a
very cooperative TUNDRA BEAN GOOSE is being seen and photographed. On
November 10 a female RUSTY BLACKBIRD was photographed at Wickiup Reservoir
south of Bend.

Conspicuous southward movements of DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS were noted long
the coast during week. Migrant flocks of RED-TAILED HAWKS were reported
along the coast. A noticeable southward movement of SANDHILL CRANES were
reported during the week over the Willamette Valley.

On November 8 over 275 BROWN PELICANS were at Heceta Head, north of
Florence. One hundred HEERMANN?S GULLS were off Boiler Bay November 9. That
day single HEERMANN?S GULLS were at the Monmouth Sewage Ponds and the
Philomath Sewage Ponds, with five at Fern Ridge Reservoir.

On November 11 two TROPICAL KINGBIRDS were on the North Spit of Coos Bay.
Two were at Fort Stevens State Park November 8. Two SNOW BUNTINGS were at
Seal Rocks State Park November 11. A wigeon flock on Yaquina Bay November 8
contained 14 male EURASIAN WIGEON with at least four females. On November 7
a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was in Astoria.

On the Columbia River in the Portland area during the week were four BLACK
SCOTERS, a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, and several SURF SCOTERS. A ROSS?S GOOSE was
on Sauvie Island November 10. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was at the Fern Hill
wetlands November 9. On November 7 a BLACK SCOTER was with seven SURF
SCOTERS on Hagg Lake south of Forest Grove. Two adult WESTERN GULLS were in
Salem November 6. A group of 100 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS were in Eugene
November 7.

On November 4 a pure YELLOW-SHAFTED FLICKER was in John Day. An ACORN
WOODPECKER was seen November 8 at Wickiup Reservoir south of Bend.
