Tweets ? I?ve had some questions about my Marymoor surveys during the holidays, since both Christmas and New Years land on Thursday, as well as Thanksgiving, of course.

Here?s the plan:

Wednesday, November 26th, at 7:30 am
No survey on Thanksgiving itself

Wednesday, December 24th, at 8:00 am
No survey on Christmas itself

Thursday, January 1st, at 8:00 am

I am also hoping that a group will go out on Wednesday, December 31st, at 8:00 am, and that someone will compile the results. Poor Week 53 gets only 1 day (2 days during Leap Years) instead of the usual seven. Week 53 almost never gets birded, has a really weak bird list (only 81 species, compared with 98 for Week 52, and 101 for Week 1), and feels unloved. This is a great opportunity to add to the Week 53 list for Marymoor, and to get a final, great bird or two for your 2014 list. I got the only SNOWY OWL sighting for Marymoor, on December 31, 2012...

Alas, I will be flying to Costa Rica and will not be able to participate. Poor me :(
