This afternoon around 3:45, I was able to make a quick run to see the
Acorn Woodpecker that was reported throughout the day at Cottage Lake
Park in Woodinville. I got a few photographs in the quickly
diminishing light. Three of them are posted here:

The bird was (as reported) in a tree just south of the playground. It
remained there for about ten minutes after I arrived, then flew
straight over me toward the water. Vickie, who was kind enough to
point it out to me, said it had been flying back and forth to this tree.
