While enjoying a crisp but sunny walk around Capitol Lake in Olympia this afternoon I happened upon 4 greater white-fronted geese coming in for a landing at Capitol Lake. The group was composed of one adult and 3 juveniles. They were grazing in the grassy area below the switchback trail to the Capitol. Unusual to see them there-- although there was one juvenile hanging out there earlier this fall.
