Tweets,
David and I made the trip to the OR Coast yesterday, where we saw the Bean Goose in the field to the north of the platform late in the afternoon. We stopped by again this a.m., and, as others have reported, it was in front of the platform. It is not as easy to pick out as I thought it would be and is best looked for with a scope. The light, by the way, was much better for viewing in the p.m., as the front of the platform is facing east.

I was able to see the Brown Booby at Pacific City in flight with a scope when I focused on a bunch of birds flying fairly low around the south side of Haystack Rock. David, unfortunately, was still setting up his scope and did not get to mine in time. I thought the bird was coming in with the cormorants to land on the rock, most of them above the white ?guano line,? but we could never relocate it.

We had a nice surprise at lunch, stopping at Mo?s in Cannon Beach?a Snow Bunting picking away at the curb in the parking lot, where there is sort of an island of grass. We walked within 10 ft. of the bird, but didn?t see it when we left 45 min. later.

A couple more days remain of good weather for the goose chase?it is supposed to rain there on Wed.
