Friends,
I am a Texas birder staying in Seattle this week. Yesterday I saw a single brown Shearwater as I ate lunch at the 6-7 Restaurant at the Edgewater hotel. Can anyone advise as to the likelihood of Short-Tailed vs Sooty?
I saw it briefly close up, without binoculars (my gut says Short-Tailed) & then it dove and resurfaced much further out.
