A similar urban sighting: Wednesday I saw an immature Greater White-fronted Goose, all by itself, no other geese anywhere in sight, next to the Water Taxi dock on Harbor Avenue in West Seattle. To my eye, the bird seemed rather thin, and it surprised me to see it alone and letting passersby get very close.

There was a flock of 8 greater white-fronted geese grazing and resting in the vacant lot at the corner of State and Jefferson Streets in downtown Olympia tonight between 5 and 6 pm. I've don't recall ever seeing this species in such an urbanized setting.
