Had 3 sightings of Western Scrub Jays at Kent Ponds this
afternoon (Friday, Green River Natural Resource Area) while walking the
Puget Power Trail. One was posing on the fence about halfway between the
south tower and the tall cottonwood trees to the east. The second was
eating some kind of nut in the willows just to the east of the tall
cottonwood trees. The third was flying low over the small footbridge near
64th Ave. South. Maybe it was one bird that we saw three times, but who
knows? I don't know if they nest in this area, but since we see them there
frequently, I'm guessing that they do. We also often see them on the east
side of 64th as the trail continues east for a bit.

Swallows (too far away to identify)
