Thanks to Daniel Melamed for ebird posting his find of the Lapland Longspur
this morning at Magnuson and Grace and Ollie Oliver spotting the bird in the
afternoon I was able to view the bird at 6pm for 40 minutes before I needed
to leave.



The bird was foraging within about 30 feet of a picnic table that was
actively being used by a family with a small kid. The bird did not care even
when a tennis ball roll by and the kid walked within 6 feet of the bird. It
was constantly chowing down as if it was on a long journey or something ;)



Hopefully it will stay around a while for others to see. Last year one
stayed around for a few days at Discovery Park. This bird was South of the
Swim Beach 100 or so yards and between Lake Washington and the main paved
path foraging in the short grass right near a picnic table.
