Subject: [Tweeters] 2 Western Scrub Jays at Fort Worden State Park

This morning I was birding at Fort Worden State Park when two jays flew
toward and over me. I assumed they were Steller's Jays. I make it a habit
to always get a binocular view of birds because ID mistakes can easily be
made. They landed in the top of a tree and when I looked they were two
WESTERN SCRUB-JAYS. I looked through the scope and got even better
looks. Amazingly a STELLER'S JAY landed in the same tree only feet away
from the two birds. There was no negative interaction. The two WESTERN
SCRUB-JAYS flew off to the east.

I was birding from the paved parking area overlooking the water to the west
of the Point Wilson Light House. I had walked over to the road to get a
better view of two FOX SPARROW when the birds flew over. There were a
number of FOX and GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW in the park as well as
RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET.
