In 2006 Irene and I stayed at Quetzal Paradise for 3 days. It was fantastic; a rustic, family run lodge in the cloud forest 70 km south of San Jose. They have a website. It was run by the Serrano family; the website appears more sophisticated than what we encountered so it's possible that something may have changed. The family knows the birds intimately and will put you on them, several species of hummers feed right outside the dining room windows, and if there are any quetzals about, Jorge will take you to them.
If you'd like any further info, feel free to contact me.
