Hey Tweets,

In addition to my previous celebratory post, I wanted to just repost that
my father and I saw a beautiful juvenile SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER at the
Reifel, BC ponds about 500 feet south of the observation tower this
afternoon. We arrived at 1230PM and watched the ponds for about 1.5 hours
(the only shorebirds were a few Greater Yellowlegs and several large groups
of Dowitchers which would occassionally fly when the resident Peregrine
Falcon flew by). We left the tower at 2pm, walked back around the outside
of the ponds, rescanned the group of Dowitchers, and noticed a strange
one. Once we got the scope on it, we realized it was a perfectly
recognizable Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, with all the classic field marks. It
was very skittish and only stayed for 5 min before taking off to the East,
but we had the best looks of my life and my father got his nemesis lifer.
