Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday October 9. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

A probable OVENBIRD was reported last week in a Tigard neighborhood. On
October 4 a MAGNOLIA WARBLER was at the Arizona Beach Park south of Port
Orford. An INDIGO BUNTING was seen October 5 at Talking Waters in Albany. On
October 5 a BLACKPOLL WARBLER was at the Winchuck River mouth south of
Brookings. A DICKCISSEL was heard October 6 over the Philomath Sewage Ponds.
On October 8 a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER was in Drewsey. A YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER was at Malheur NWR Headquarters October 4. An October 4 offshore
boat trip found an ASHY-STORM PETREL, a FLESH-FOOTED SHEARWATER, and three
SKUAS.

On October 5 a LARK BUNTING was near Langlois. The next day a TROPICAL
KINGBIRD was there and at Sixes River. Also on October 6 a LAPLAND LONGSPUR,
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, SAY?S PHOEBE, and two PALM WARBLERS were in that
area. That day an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was at Flores Lake and a PACIFIC
GOLDEN-PLOVER at Bandon. On October 6 a TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at Cape Arago.
Another was at the South Jetty of the Columbia River October 4.

A WHITE-THROATED SPARROW was at Ridgefield October 7. A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was
seen that day at the Philomath Sewage Ponds. A NORTHERN SHRIKE was reported
October 6 at the top of Marys Peak. A SHARP-TAILED SANDPIPER was seen all
week at Fern Ridge Reservoir. A NORTHERN SHRIKE, LAPLAND LONGSPUR and an
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVR were there October 3. That day a FERRUGINOUS HAWK was
over the Rogue Valley. On October 2 five SURF SCOTERS and 19 HORNED GREBES
were on Suttle Lake. A PACIFIC LOON was on Tumalo Resevior the next day.

On October 4 the Green Ridge Hawkwatch Station recorded their fourth
BROAD-WINGED HAWK of the season.
