I saw Longspur on two separate afternoons at Montlake Fill this week. I got a photo of a Lapland one yesterday about 5:15PM http://173.160.158.251/postings/2014-10-08-birds/good2.jpg

The one on Tuesday (also 5:15PM, no photo) has me confused. It had the chest and breast coloring/striping of a Smith's, but I didn't notice white outer tail feathers and the bill looked substantially heavier than the one in the photo. So, I have to be conservative and say Lapland Longspur, too. These are the first Longspur that I've seen, so take all my IDs with a grain of salt.
