Tweeters,

I carefully scoped the Lower Puyallup River area from Gog-le-hi-ti to the
closed bridge at 11th St, from 11 am to 1:30 pm today. When I arrived,
very few gulls were present, and the surrounding roofs and containers,
normally lined with gulls, were vacant. At low tide (about 1 pm) around 500
gulls gradually arrived in the gull bathing area between the Lincoln St and
11th St bridges, with gulls continually flying in and out. The previously
seen Slaty-backed Gull, unmistakable in photos for its dark mantle, was not
present.
