After a two winter absence a flock of a couple hundred Pine siskins were
feeding and chattering in adjacent hemlock and cedar trees. As the birds
bounced on the branches they sent forth a snow storm of swirling seeds,
blanketing the ground for the Deer mice to party on after dark.
