Dear Barry and Tweeters,

The Snow Geese seem to be roughly on time, in my estimation.

Over the last ten years, my first observations of Snow Geese in Skagit County have been on or before October eleventh in seven out of ten years.

Some other arrival dates that I have noted of late include these:

9-28-13;

9-29-09;

10-2-10;

10-3-08;

10-9-05;

10-9-11.

In the other three years, 2006, 2007, and 2012, I did not observe them until later in October, the 28th, 20th, and 21st of the month, respectively.

One other thing--a flock of six Snow Geese flew over my house yesterday morning, heading west. That is only the second time I have seen them at my place, which is near Lyman. They don't often appear upriver.

Yours truly,

Gary Bletsch
