Today a flock of 20 or so Surfbirds flew by paralleling Alki Ave SW heading around the Duwamish Head (near where Harbor Ave changes to Alki Ave).
There has been a flock of a couple dozen along with a dozen or two Black Turnstones on the rocks at the base of the seawall along Alki Ave for a couple weeks. I had up to 100 Surfbirds along with BLTU 3 or 4 weeks ago (sorry for not posting that). They are EXTREMELY tough to count as they work their way through all of the rocks constantly disappearing and then reappearing nearby!!
Also had a dozen Western Grebes this morning just west of the Duwamish Head. At some distance and in poor light I couldn't quite make any of them into a Clark's.
