Thanks to all who responded to my ID request for the two mystery sandpipers I saw Sunday at the marsh. So far the majority of votes are for dunlin in winter plumage.

The two sandpipers returned Monday for a brief period before they were scared off by what I thought was a merlin. A lesser(?) yellowlegs was present as well.

A trip to the marina revealed a rhinocerous auklet and two common murres swimming very close to the fishing pier.
