Hi Tweeters and OBOL,

While the nocturnal migration over my Battle Ground, Clark County,
Washington yard this morning wasn't much to speak of, there were still some
Swainson's Thrushes moving last night. Did anybody else out there hear any
last night?

I was surprised at how many migrants were in my yard after sunup through
about 9am:

Black-throated Gray Warbler: 5
Common Yellowthroat: 2
Warbling Vireo: 2
Red-eyed Vireo: 1 (adult - I don't think this was the same one as
yesterday's)
Western Tanager: 3
Pacific-slope Flycatcher: 1 (first one for several weeks)
Willow Flycatcher: 1 (none yesterday so this may be a new migrant)
Swainson's Thrush: 3

Pine Siskin: 3 (flyovers)
Evening Grosbeak: unseen flyovers

The Steller's Jays are starting to flock up - another sign that Fall is
coming.

The two young of the year Black-headed Grosbeaks are continuing to be
feeder huggers. The latest ones I've ever had in the yard were on
September 6, 2011 so these have a few days to go.

Keep your eyes and ears skyward!

Jim
