Hi Tweets,

Heather and I found a couple of nice gulls along with some shorebirds on Moses Lake.

At Potholes State Park from the boat launch was a dozen Bonaparte's with a juvenile SABINE'S GULL MIXED in. Also saw a dozen SANDERLINGS mixed in with some peeps. In the white bird department were 170 Am. White Pelicans, Great Egret, 200 Western Grebes (at least! With young ones mixed in), Forster's & Common Tern.

At Lind Coulee off of M St. the shorebirds present were: Greater Yellowlegs, Spotted Sandpiper, Killdeer & Long-billed Dowitchers.

I decided to check the gull roost just west of M St at the next fishing access (just keep winding north and east) and we were rewarded with a nice juvenile Franklin's Gull mixed in with the Ring-billed Gulls.

Mammal highlight of the day was at Vantage overlook where 28 Bighorn Sheep were grazing on the grass - all of them ewes and youngsters. Evidently it isn't too unusual this time of year, but it was kind of a kick to look for warblers among the sheep.

Good birding,
