This morning at the Skagit Headquarters at the end of Wylie Rd there were some good birds.



A juvenile Red Knot was in with the still large numbers of both Yellowlegs and Dowitchers. These birds were roosting at high tide on the snags in the large pond next to the boat launch parking. The bird puzzled me at first because it seemed so out of place perched on a log and not on a mud flat or ocean beach. We were able to view it for half an hour and had good looks at its short straight bill, short, blue-gray legs, prominent supercilium and clear gray mantle feathers and tertials edged white.



Later I was able to re-find the juvenile Lewis's Woodpecker found earlier by Scott Atkinson. This bird was flycatching around the main parking area West of the boat launch parking.



Scott also had a Gray Catbird and a White-throated Sparrow in the area which I could not re-locate. I'm sure he will have more details later.
