Hi tweets:
I just saw a WESTERN SCRUB JAY 1/2 a block from my house.
When I got home and looked at my my daily Audubon desk calendar with sibley drawings,
Today's bird , sept.26 is a western scrub jay! Coincidence, I think not!!
This is my second one here, the first being nov.2010- feb2011.
Also a flock of evening grosbeaks eating huge cones on tall noble firs near my house.
and a juvenile sharp-shinned hawk on my street.
Shorebirds are few ,about 30 BLACKBELLIED plovers and 3-4 killdeers.
Cheers, Maxine reid
