Heard what sounded most like a Varied Thrush call, both last evening at dusk and this morning, early. Sounded like a juvenile who hasn't yet mastered the full double-note whistle. It was moving around a lot in the bushes/trees on my property. Anyone else hearing that melancholy sound, foretelling the coolness and dampness of the seasons to come?
