Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

The Nestucca Bay NWR BEAN GOOSE continues to be seen.

The spring migration is now well underway. Good sized flocks of warblers are
now being reported. All of the expected swallows have returned with PURPLE
MARTINS reported at Tenmile Lake in Coos County March 26 and at Steigerwald
NWR March 30. TUFTED PUFFINS are now being reported at Haystack Rock at
Cannon Beach.

On March 26 a SAGEBRUSH SPARROW was in Toledo, east of Newport. A female
PINE GROSBEAK was photographed March 29 at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland. A
BLACK-NECKED STILT was photographed March 29 at Baskett Slough NWR. Three
were at Fern Ridge Reservoir the next day. BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS returned
during the week to the Rogue Valley.

An early SWAINSON?S HAWK was near Madras March 29. Large flocks of SNOW and
ROSS?S GEESE are now in the Malheur NWR area along with many cranes and
ducks. The BURROWING OWL is now being seen along Ruh Red Road north of the
refuge.
