The two Olympic Owl Prowls: sold out; Bird Drawing Class: sold out;
Protection Island Cruise: sold out. However, the popular and amazing
Endangered Waterfowl trips still have spots available, and so does the
all-day Elwha to the Dungeness trip and several other bird-expert-guided
birding trips around the north Olympic Peninsula during the 15th annual
Olympic BirdFest on April 10-12.

The dinner banquet held on April 11 at the beautiful Jamestown S'Klallam
Tribal Center overlooking Sequim Bay, features a presentation by Lynsy
Smithson-Stanley, National Audubon Society's director for climate and
strategic initiatives. If you're adventurous, meet up at Neah Bay prior to
BirdFest for a two-day birding trip that includes a pelagic boat trip to the
outer Pacific Coast and land birding around the Makah Indian Nation. And
after BirdFest, take a three-day cruise right from Sequim Bay at the John
Wayne Marina to the spectacular San Juan Islands. The totem tour promises
an "up-close" view of the hand-carved poles, and tribal members explaining
the historical figures and legends that inspired their designs. And on
Friday night, there's a free live raptor presentation by the Northwest
Raptor Rehabilitation Center.

We look forward to seeing those of you who have already registered and
appreciate your participation. We also appreciate the expertise of the many
talented and dedicated birders from the Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society.
BirdFest proceeds support the educational programs at the Dungeness River
Audubon Center (www.dungenessrivercenter.org
<http://www.dungenessrivercenter.org> ), which is a must visit bird and
wildlife museum near the banks of the Dungeness River in Sequim. The river
itself is an amazing place to see this year, as last winter's fast waters
deposited a large swath of woody debris and huge trees right next to the
Railroad Bridge, which, by the way, is celebrating its 100 years of
existence this year.

"Come Bird With Us," we'd enjoy having your company. Learn more and
register at www.olympicbirdfest.org <http://www.olympicbirdfest.org> , or
call 360-681-4076.
