Chazz,
I noticed yesterday in the a.m. that some of the hard-core county listers were messin' with us on April Fools Day with that google story.
I decided to poke a little fun back at them. It might have been funnier when I sent it at 9:30 am than when it arrived through the Tweeters pipeline 7 hours later :(
I had hoped that the bit about looking through my binocs whilst manning a moving vehicle, in conjunction with mistaking a kestrel for an Aplomado Falcon, would be enough to tip off most tweets to the joke.
In any case, if I had been on top of my game, I would have added: "Pics."
p.s. No animals were harmed in the construction of this farce (including no Ross's Geese.) ?

Dear Mr. Saul,

I gotta say, mistakin' an American Kestrel for an Alpomado Falcon in WA
is pretty lame but may serve you well in south Texas.? If the birding
world was like the old TV western "Branded," (starring Chuck Connors!)
we'd be bustin' your binoculars over our knees right about now!

Anyways, I'm more intrigued by the late goose.? Did you bring it home or
leave it by the road?? If the latter, do you have the coordinates of the
location of the expired goose?? You see, in my almost 20 years of living
in Alabama I was able to glean several mighty good recipes for roastin'
road kill.

Hungry in Port Orchard,

Chazz Hesselein
